This 5-year climate change and communities programme was funded by the UK Big Lottery and located in a deprived area of East Salford. The programme focuses on a number of aspects of this issue such as flooding, energy conservation, and food self-sufficiency as well as green job creation and community cohesion and wellbeing. The SuROI team led by Prof. Erik Bichard used the Sustainable Return on Investment approach to evaluate the social and environmental value of the programme. This included an initial Theory of Change workshop with key stakeholders, followed by annual surveys and interactions with stakeholders. The final report was submitted to the Big Lottery as part of the final evaluation report in 2017.
