Everton FC’s “The People’s Project”, Liverpool UK

Everton Football Club is currently in the process of building a new stadium at Bramley Moore Dock in Liverpool. The Club wanted to understand and optimise the social value created by the stadium move. “The People’s Project” was created, combining the development of the new stadium with a legacy project for the use of the existing stadium ground.

Everton FC appointed RealWorth to understand, measure and communicate the social value associated with its stadium move from Goodison Park to Bramley-Moore Dock.

RealWorth analysed the social value likely to be created by the People’s Project. This comprised a review of the Club’s charity Everton in the Community (EitC), the new stadium itself and the effect that the Legacy Project at Goodison was likely to have in the future.

For EitC, a three-year evaluation of the charities’ activities from 2016 – 2018 was used to summarise the social value generated by their work. This evaluation was based on interviews with project delivery teams for different projects within the programme. You can find an overview of the social value calculated for EitC here.

This was the Club’s first experience of social value. RealWorth provided a valuable insight on the importance of understanding and assessing social value

RealWorth were knowledgeable, trustworthy, nimble and agile. The work they did and the way they did it really helped the Club at many levels and in different areas of the business, including Everton in the Community.
