This European funded project sought to research strategies for the establishment of successful smart specialisation business clusters for sustainable local economic development.
We applied SROI evaluation methods to determine the overall sustainable value of each initiative
The project (a successor to the CLUDS project) networked four EU universities (Reggio Calabria, Salford (UK), Aalto (Finland), Roma (Italy) and two USA universities (North-Eastern (Boston) and San Diego State. Prof. Bichard led the UK unit which applied sustainable return on investment evaluation methods to a range of US and European case studies to determine the overall sustainable value of each initiative.
