Plus X deliver high-quality workspaces that are designed to inspire innovation, collaboration and positive social impact. Each Plus X hub offers a range of uses and offers, such as private offices, fixed desk and hot desk facilities, as well as business accelerators, event space, café space and a number of other specialist functions.
In 2019, the Plus X team were preparing to launch a growth strategy, to roll out a number of Plus X hubs across the UK. RealWorth were asked to conduct an assessment of the planned growth strategy to evidence the positive social impact Plus X that this could have on occupants and other stakeholders.
Currently, there are two Plus X hubs operating in Hayes and Brighton. The Hayes hub has been operating since 2015. Plus X Brighton opened for occupation in 2020.
The output of this work was used by Plus X in their marketing material and in presentations to potential delivery partners and investors for prospective hubs.
Subsequent to the assessment RealWorth established a monitoring framework for Plus X staff to use when reporting on the social impacts and benefits to its tenants.
In 2021 RealWorth carried out a study that compared the 2019 forecast with the actual value that had been created. This evidenced that Plus X are on track to hit their social value targets within the first five years of occupation.
RealWorth will continue to measure the social value of Plus X over the next three years and report on ongoing progress as well as advise on how to maximise the social value created.
