RealWorth’s Walking Tour

RealWorth's James McGowan and Erik Bichard recently hosted a social value walking tour of Liverpool's northern docklands area. Highlighted in Rachel Reeves' inaugural speech as Chancellor, Liverpool's northern docklands is one of the area's Labour intends to unlock with its upcoming planning reform. James and Erik were joined by Officers from Liverpool City Council and Make CIC to discuss how regeneration can create social value for existing and future residents.

Joined by clients and colleagues from across the built environment sector, RealWorth’s Erik Bichard and James McGowan recently hosted a walking tour of Liverpool’s northern docklands area.

Highlighted in Rachel Reeves’ inaugural speech as Chancellor, Liverpool’s northern docklands is one of the area’s Labour intends to unlock with its upcoming planning reform. The Ten Streets Spatial Regeneration Framework has designated the area as a creative district, but Everton Football Club’s new Bramley Moore Stadium opening in the area in 2025 and the Liverpool Waters Masterplan has generated considerable interest in the northern docklands.

The tour included discussions of how the regeneration of the northern docklands can create social value for both existing and future residents whilst remaining a creative district, and how planning policy can facilitate that.

Special thanks to Liam Kelly for showing us around Make CIC’s creative workspace and the Officers from Liverpool City Council for providing the Council’s perspective.
