Everton Football Club: ‘The People’s Project’
Project Description
Everton Football Club (EFC) is currently in the process of building a new stadium at Bramley Moore Dock in Liverpool, a 45 minute walk from the existing Goodison Park stadium.
As the move will result in a departure from the existing stadium in the town of Everton, EFC created “The People’s Project”, combining the development of the new stadium with a legacy project for the use of the existing stadium ground. RealWorth was appointed to understand, measure and communicate the social value associated with its stadium move and The People’s Project.
How we Helped
RealWorth used social return on investment to analyse the social value likely to be created by the People’s Project. This comprised a review of the Club’s charity Everton in the Community (EitC), the new stadium itself and the effect that the Legacy Project at Goodison was likely to have in the future. The combined societal value was predicted to be more than £237m over a 10-year period.
For EitC, a three-year evaluation of the charities’ activities from 2016 – 2018 was used to summarise the social value generated by their work. This evaluation was based on interviews with project delivery teams for different projects within the programme. You can find an overview of the social value calculated for EitC here.
