    RealWorth was part of a Swedish team commissioned to develop an approach to optimise and measure the social value of regeneration programmes across Sweden. There was specific emphasis on community cohesion and how role of planning and design could be used to deliver local lasting impact. The project included four Swedish case studies in Malmö and Lund to test the approach in the field.

    Our Role

    RealWorth provided training and materials to Swedish members of the team, including:

    • Designers and urban planners

    • Local government agencies

    • Real estate consultants

    • Developers

    The project aimed to influence and support decision-makers seeking to improve community cohesion in Swedish towns and cities by increasing the social value from private and public investment.

    Improved wellbeing from better public areas inviting cultural mixing (via music, art, dance, etc.)

    Increased confidence and disposable income as a result of being in employment,  education or training

    Improved employment prospects due to improved access to training and skills sessions

    Reduction of drug-related and other criminal activity in the vicinity of the library leads to reduced fear of crime
